man smiling outdoors

Have you ever thought about strengthening your smile? Whether age, injury or the toll of time has led you here, dentures might just be your ticket to confident grinning once again. At El Dorado Hills Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry, Dr. Jonah Tabrizi and our fantastic team are all about making that dream a tangible reality.

Types of Dentures

So, you’re thinking dentures, but did you know there’s more than one type? Let’s break it down:

  • Complete Dentures: When it’s time for a full smile reboot, complete dentures replace all the teeth on the top and bottom jaws.
  • Partial Dentures: Got some natural teeth hanging around? No problem! Partial dentures fill in the gaps while letting your natural teeth shine.
  • Upper/Lower Dentures: Tailored specifically for either the upper or lower jaw, these are all about precision and comfort.
  • Implant-Supported Dentures: Using dental implants, your dentures will have a stronger bite with added stability and won’t risk sliding out of place.

All of our different denture types will be customized to your mouth so that they fit comfortably and function effectively.

Are There Alternatives to Dentures?

Absolutely! While dentures are tried-and-true, dental science keeps on evolving. Some popular alternatives include:

  • Dental Implants: Like a root, an implant is anchored into the jaw, providing a stable base for replacement teeth. They’re the closest thing to natural teeth in terms of look and feel.
  • Bridges: Quite like the name suggests, they “bridge” the gap where teeth are missing, anchored by adjacent teeth.

Regardless of your choice, it’s all about finding the best fit for you, both in terms of comfort and price. Dr. Jonah Tabrizi can help!

Caring for Your Dentures

While they look a lot like teeth, dentures are not made of the same material as teeth and therefore must be cleaned differently. Avoid using regular toothpaste, and instead seek out denture cleaners. Use a soft-bristle brush to clean your dentures so you don’t scratch the material.

Clean your dentures every night, and don’t forget to care for your mouth — tongue and gums can build up food and germs, too! If you can remove your dentures (i.e. not implant-supported) do so nightly to give your mouth a chance to rest.

Pricing and Insurance Options

Wondering about the cost of dentures? At El Dorado Hills Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry, we provide options to help our patients get the smiles they deserve.

  • Cost-Effective: Dentures are often seen as one of the most affordable tooth replacement options. Whether you’re looking for a discount or the best price for premium care, we’ve got options.
  • Insurance: We can help navigate your insurance benefits. Many plans provide some level of coverage for dentures or their repair, and we’ll help you understand it all.
  • Payment Plans: Not all insurances cover everything, and not everyone has insurance. But don’t fret! We provide various financing options to ensure everyone can get back their smile without breaking the bank.
